FreshBus, an electric bus startup based in Bangalore, said on February 16 that ixigo, a travel technology platform, has contributed Rs 26 crore to its investment round. According to a statement from FreshBus, the money received in the seed fundraising round would aid in the company's premium inter-city electric bus services' nationwide rollout in India. Aloke Bajpai co-founder and group CEO, IXIGO and Rajnish Kumar, co-founder and Group CPTO, IXIGO said, "There are nearly 100,000 inter-city buses operating in the country, the majority of which are diesel based and are a major source of urban air pollution. We are proud to back Sudhakar once more with a joint vision of a future where all inter-city buses in India will run on clean fuel. FreshBus buses will be able to cover up to 375km on a single charge with zero emission, enabling greener, affordable and safer rides."
