  • Government has launched 400 new Vandey Mataram Trains which will be developed over the next 3 years. This will increase travels and will lead to more traffic on ticket booking platforms.

  • The government has made an announcement. The Parvatmala, or National Ropeways Development Program, has been launched for hilly areas such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and the country's North East region. The project will be seen as a preferred environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional highways. The goal is to improve commuter connectivity and convenience while also encouraging tourism.

  • Government has launched Battery swapping policy to allow EV charging stations for automobiles. Private sector will be encouraged sustainable and innovative business model for battery and energy to improve the efficiency in the EV ecosystem.

  • Government has announced that Spectrum auction will be conducted in 2022 for the roll out of 5G services, also Scheme for design led manufacturing to be launched for 5G ecosystem as part of Production-linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

  • Government has announced Rs 19,500 cr additional allocation for PLI for manufacturing high efficiency solar modules.

  • Government has announced 75 digital banks in 75 districts will be set up by scheduled commercial banks to encourage digital payments.

  • Government has announced a high-level committee for urban planners and economists to be formed for recommendations on urban capacity building, planning implementation, and governance. In 2022-23, 80 lakh households will be identified for the affordable housing scheme.

  • A 15% tax is capped on the tax payable on LTCG on capital assets in listed as well as unlisted companies benefiting the investors of these companies. Presently it is 25% for incomes from Rs 2 crore to Rs 5 crore and 37% for incomes above Rs 5 crore, now after the budget announcement it will be surcharged as 15%. Hence the effective tax rate will be 23.92% which was 25% to 27.4% according to the income slabs.

  • Finance minister in the budget session said to set up an expert committee for some measures which can help boost venture capital (VC) and private equity (PE) investments. VCs and PE investors floated more than rs5.5 lakh crs previous year for largest start-up and growth ecosystems.
