    The Vedanta Group company Sterlite Power, a private power transmission provider, is establishing a sister business to develop renewable energy projects for users in the commercial and industrial sectors (C&I).

    In Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, Serentica Renewables will construct 1.5 Gigawatts (Gw) of solar, wind, and energy storage capacity.

    A spokeswoman for Serentica, Pratik Agarwal, the managing director of Sterlite Power, stated that Vedanta Group would receive close to 600 Mw of the continuous green power as part of the "company's (Vedanta's) decarbonization goal."

    "The  company is willing to scale up the capacity of renewable energy to 5 Gw with energy storage technologies in the medium term. Each year, the company want to produce 15 billion renewable energy units.
