On Friday, Sterlite Power said that it has been chosen to handle the transmission of electricity from Rajasthan's renewable energy zones. PFC Consulting Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation, has provided the company with a letter of intent (LoI) to build the project on a build-own-operate-transfer basis for a 35-year period. A key component of the programme published by the Ministry of Power in 2022 for the integration of more than 500 GW of renewable energy capacity into the national grid by 2030 is the whole transmission infrastructure. A 350 km, 765 kV transmission link from Rajasthan's Fatehgarh III to Beawar will be built as part of the project.
