According to a company statement, the Marituba project entailed the construction of a 344-km 500kV transmission corridor, linking Brazil's largest hydropower plant at Tucurui with the metropolitan area of Belem. The project was designed to transport up to 1000 MW of green energy.
Since entering the Brazilian market in 2017, Sterlite Power has established a substantial presence, securing 13 projects through greenfield global auction processes. Presently, the company boasts a robust portfolio comprising 8 power transmission projects, out of which six have been successfully developed. This portfolio encompasses approximately 2000 kilometers of transmission lines and 22 substations.
