• Summer sales to cheer up battered beer sector

    24 February

After two seasons of being wiped out by pandemic waves and the ensuing lockdowns, beer producers are anticipating strong sales this summer. Ab InBev, United Breweries, Bira 91, and Simba, among others, are finally anticipating exceeding their 2019 business levels and ramping up capacity. At the same time, they're warning about inflation since barley prices are at an all-time high, and packaging is becoming more expensive, with both glass bottles and aluminium cans becoming more expensive.
