Allied Blenders and Distillers (ABDL), the largest Indian-owned, Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) company known for its flagship brand Officer's Choice whisky, is gearing up for a significant expansion in the luxury spirits market.
According to Managing Director, Alok Gupta, the company is targeting a double-digit share in the luxury alcohol beverage segment in India over the next three to five years.
As part of its expansion strategy, ABDL announced on September 4 that its board has approved the acquisition of an 80% stake in a new company formed in collaboration with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, represented by Oh Five Oh Talent Limited Liability Partnership.
Under the new entity, ABDL plans to offer products at various price points and flavours, catering to a global audience as well as Indian consumers.
ABDL has already launched ZOYA, a luxury gin, and is on the verge of introducing its first Scotch malt, bottled in India as Scotch M, with plans to release in October ahead of the festive season.
