Gulal and pichkaris witnessed a 50% surge, as consumers opted for herbal colours, organic gulal, and celebration accessories available on Bigbasket, reflecting a preference for safe and skin-friendly festivities.

Festive purchases began rising nearly 10 days before Holi, marking an onset of celebrations across households. Holika Dahan essentials, including pooja samagri, coconuts, and ritual offerings, recorded an 83% growth compared to last year, reaffirming the continued importance of traditional observances.

Holi delights such as gujiya and laddoo saw an 80% increase, as customers embraced ready-to-serve festive treats for home gatherings. Sweets and dry fruits registered a 60% growth, driven by gifting and festive consumption trends.

Beverages including thandai and coolers emerged as a growth driver, witnessing a 30% rise, as households stocked up on festive drinks and refreshment essentials. Last-minute festive purchases peaked on Holi eve, with instant delivery orders for colours, sweets, and beverages witnessing a spike across cities.

Seshu Kumar, Chief Buying and Merchandising Officer, Bigbasket said, “At bigbasket, we understand that festivals are about togetherness, not running errands. This Holi, we brought everything customers needed, from Holika Dahan essentials to festive treats and beverages to their doorstep with speed and reliability. It is encouraging to see customers choosing convenience without compromising on tradition.”
