ESDS, a domestic data center operator, will invest ₹600 crore (~$70 million) to set up its first data center in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a state that currently has no operational colocation facilities. The announcement follows a meeting between ESDS chairman Piyush Somani, vice president Lokesh Sharma, and chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, who stated that the facility would be optimized for AI workloads. While details on location, size, capacity, and timelines were not disclosed, the project comes alongside RackBank’s ongoing development in Nava Raipur. ESDS currently operates ~60,000 sq. ft. of data center space across four facilities in Punjab, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra (Mumbai).
