Indian renewable energy solutions provider Greenzo Energy Pvt Ltd said on Thursday it has been awarded a deal to develop and install a 120-MW solar park project in Nepal. Worth INR 5 billion (USD 59.3m/EUR 55m), the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract has expanded Greenzo Energy’s order book to INR 19 billion. The Indian firm will be responsible for the project's end-to-end execution. The project will be executed in phases, with its completion scheduled for next year. The proposed capacity will be grouped in 12 clusters, each with a capacity of 10 MW, and will be connected to the grid operated by Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). The power will be evacuated through a new high-tension transmission line. More than 500 job positions are expected to be opened during the scheme’s development and implementation phases. Greenzo noted it has been working with the project owner for over two years to facilitate the project. "This project will play a pivotal role in helping Nepal achieve its clean energy targets and further strengthen cross-border energy partnerships," it said. (INR 10 = USD 0.0119/EUR 0.110)
