Albinder Dhindsa, the CEO of Blinkit, announced on January 2 a 10-minute ambulance service to provide "quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities." The first five ambulances hit the road yesterday in Gurugram and the service will eventually be expanded into other cities. The service will be available as Basic Life Support (BLS) on the app.
Detailing what the BLS offers, Dhindsa said that it will bring to customers' doorsteps ambulances equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AED (Automated External Defibrillator), stretcher, monitor, suction machine, and essential emergency medicines and injections.

Moreover, there is a paramedic, an assistant and a trained driver in each ambulance.
"Profit is not a goal here. We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term," Dhindsa wrote on X. "We are carefully scaling this service up, as it is both important and new to us. Our aim is to expand to all major cities over the next two years," he added.
