    India's capital markets saw an increase in retail participation during FY25, with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) adding over 84 lakh new active demat accounts—an annual growth of 20.5%. The total number of active demat accounts on the NSE stood at 4.92 crore as of March 2025. Among brokerage platforms, Groww contributed significantly to this rise, accounting for over 40% of the net additions in active accounts.

    According to NSE data, Groww’s active client base rose from 95 lakh in FY24 to 1.29 crore by the end of FY25, marking a 36% year-on-year increase. Its market share also expanded from 23.28% to 26.26% over the same period.​
