According to sources who spoke to NDTV Profit, the decision to approve the settlement applications of India's leading stock exchange, the National Stock Exchange (NSE), regarding the co-location and dark fiber cases is expected to be made at the next meeting of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) High-Powered Advisory Committee (HPAC).
This next meeting will likely occur in September, with the agenda anticipated to include the final settlements involving the NSE.
In the previous HPAC meeting, the members addressed a pending audit issue related to the exchange's data storage practices. This issue arose in 2021 amid allegations that the exchange had not established a written contract when allowing a third-party vendor to safeguard its trade-related data. It was ultimately decided that this matter could be settled for over Rs 40 crore. However, the discussions regarding the co-location and dark fiber settlements did not take place during that meeting, according to informed sources.
