    18 February 2025

The valuation of the IPO-bound National Stock Exchange (NSE) increased by 201 percent in 2024, reaching ₹4.7 lakh crore, according to a report released on Tuesday.

As the largest equity exchange in India, the NSE is reported to have resumed its listing process by applying for a no-objection certificate from the market regulator, SEBI. According to the 2024 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 list, which includes both listed and unlisted companies, it is now the 10th most valuable private company in the country.

In September 2024, the valuation was estimated at ₹3.12 lakh crore. Another report indicated that the NSE, which also operates the world's largest derivatives exchange, aims to sell 10 percent of its holdings in the upcoming IPO.

Overall revenues increased by 28 percent to ₹16,352 crore in FY24, while post-tax profits surged by 51 percent to ₹8,306 crore. The stock exchange began moving forward with its listing plans after gaining clarity on allegations regarding not providing equitable access to its members.
