OYO expands religious tourism footprint
  • OYO expands religious tourism footprint

    10 April 2025

Homegrown hospitality giant OYO is making waves in India’s religious tourism sector with the announcement of 500 new hotel rooms across prominent pilgrimage sites nationwide. This strategic expansion is poised to tap into the ever-growing faith-based travel market, aiming to offer quality and affordable stays for millions of domestic travellers.

At the HICSA session titled “Anywhere, Everywhere,” OYO’s Founder & Group CEO, Ritesh Agarwal, shared insights during a conversation with Megha Tuli, Partner & Co-Founder of Hotelivate. His confident assertion, “I will continue to deliver results,” reflects the group’s ambitious plans and commitment to scaling operations further in underserved markets.

As the company readies itself to unveil its annual performance, early estimates suggest OYO may post robust margins nearing INR 1500 crores. Such strong financials highlight the brand’s resilience and ability to adapt to the dynamic hospitality landscape, especially amid shifting traveller preferences.

This bold move into spiritual hubs is more than just business; it signals a deeper alignment with cultural tourism trends and OYO’s long-term strategy to become a household name for every kind of traveler—be it spiritual, leisure, or business.
