Sheela Foam, best known for its Sleepwell brand of mattresses, will purchase rival Kurlon Enterprises for Rs 2,150 crore in its largest acquisition ever, as the Rahul Gautam-controlled company looks for a stronger foothold in the home comfort market.
The Noida-based company, founded by Gautam’s mother Sheela in 1971, will acquire 94.7% of Kurlon from promoter Sudhakar Pai (related to Ranjan Pai of Manipal Group) for Rs 2,150 crore.
