After receiving backlash from a certain section of social media users for its ad telling people to not use eggs on each other during Holi celebrations, Swiggy has now reportedly taken down the Instagram reel as well as billboards of the ad in the Delhi-NCR area. The advertisement said, "Omelette - Sunny side-up - Kisi ke sarr par. #BuraMatKhelo. Get Holi essentials on Instamart." Swiggy had also posted a reel with the same message on its official Instagram handle for Swiggy Instamart. There is no official statement from Swiggy on the matter yet, a source told news agency PTI, that the billboard ads were only in Delhi-NCR and have been taken down now. Soon after the ads were up, many people took to twitter tagging Swiggy with the hashtag #HinduPhobicSwiggy’, and urged others to boycott the app.
