Walmart-owned Flipkart Group’s Shopsy app is growing both in numbers and geographically across India. The eCommerce app for discounted resale products has tripled its number of units, customers and sellers over the past year and has been downloaded 175 million times as of March, Walmart said in a Thursday (June 8) press release. The Shopsy platform has also expanded geographically, reaching smaller towns in India as well as big cities, according to the release. The platform’s growth has been driven by young people in India — with people younger than 35 years old accounting for 90% of its new customers — and budget-conscious families, the release said. border
