Online food delivery service Swiggy reported on Friday that 7.6 crore biryani orders were placed in India in the previous year, ahead of the annual International Biryani Day, which is observed on July 2. The company claims that customers all over the nation made 219 orders each minute for their preferred meal, which might be anything from the flavorful "Kolkata Biryani" to the aromatic "Malabar Biryani," to the fiery "Hyderabadi Dum Biryani." 8 Percent Increase: The meal delivery service provided data on orders placed between January 2023 and June 2023 and stated that there has been a rise of 8.26% in Biryani orders over the previous five and a half months compared to 2022. In the past year, 76 million orders for Biryani, or more than 7.6 crore, have been fulfilled, according to a record. More than 2.6 lakh establishments are listed on this food delivery service as having biryani on the menu. More than 26,000 eateries specialise in it at once. Every minute, at least 219 orders are placed for this.
