Sterlite Power Successfully Commissions its Largest Green Energy Corridor Project in Gujarat

Leading power transmission firm Sterlite Power in India and Brazil announced the successful commissioning of its green energy corridor project, Lakadia-Vadodara Transmission Project Ltd. (LVTPL). In order to speed up India's transition to a greener economy, the project seeks to deliver more than 5000 MW of power from the renewable resource-rich regions of Bhuj and Kutch to the national grid.

The 765/400 kV substation at Lakadia is linked to Vadodara by a 335 km long 765 kV double-circuit transmission line that was constructed with an investment of Rs 2,024 crore. This electricity transmission corridor in Gujarat has 812 towers and spans seven districts, making it one of the largest transmission corridors ever constructed in India. Additionally, it forms a critical part of the world’s largest 30,000 MW Hybrid renewable energy park coming up in Kutch.
