​Ajay Bijli is the Managing Director of PVR INOX, India's largest multiplex operator. He transformed his family-run theatre, Priya Cinemas, into the leading multiplex brand PVR, known for its innovations in movie experiences.​

​In 1995, Ajay collaborated with the Australian company Village Roadshow to launch PVR, which introduced multiplex cinemas to India. The first PVR multiplex opened in New Delhi’s Saket in 1997​

​PVR's revenue primarily comes from ticket sales (46%), followed by food and beverage sales (29%), and advertising (15%). The company also has additional income streams from film production and distribution​

​Ajay emphasizes resilience and adaptability. Despite facing financial and emotional setbacks, he always pushed forward by focusing on customer satisfaction and exploring new opportunities. His mantra is that “either you are a small player or you have the scale to make money,” reflecting his belief in the importance of growth and scale.​
