Om Tantia watched the film Anand at a very impressionable age. So inspired was he by the character of the doctor, played to perfection by Amitabh Bachchan, that he decided to take up medicine.

Dr. Om Tantia was motivated to specialize in laparoscopic surgery due to its minimally invasive nature, which allows for faster recovery times for patients. His initial exposure to the technique during his master's program sparked his interest, leading him to further train in the field in England.
