Ranjan Pai

• Ranjan Pai, son of Ramdas Pai, a Padma Bhushan awardee and chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), was born into a family with a rich legacy in education.
• His grandfather, T. M. A. Pai, established Kasturba Medical College, India's first private, self-financed medical college in 1953.
• Pai graduated from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and pursued his fellowship in Hospital Administration in the United States.
• He commenced his career as the managing director of the Melaka Manipal Medical College in Malaysia.
• Initially inclined towards continuing the family's not-for-profit education trust, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Pai later opted to join MEMG's business.​

• Dr. Ranjan R. Pai, President of MAHE Trust and Chairman of MEMG, was honored with the Paryaya Darbar Award at a ceremony during Udupi's Chaturtha Paryaya Mahotsav.
• The award, presented by Sri Sri Sugunendra Theertha Sripada of Sri Putige Mutt, recognizes Dr. Pai's significant contributions to education and healthcare.
• Dr. Pai has played a key role in elevating MAHE to one of India's top ten multidisciplinary universities, following the footsteps of his parents, Dr. Ramdas M Pai and Mrs. Vasanti R Pai.
• His visionary approach has earned MAHE an 'excellence' status from the Union Ministry of Education and expanded its global presence with campuses in various locations.
• Under Dr. Pai's leadership, Manipal Hospitals has become the country’s second-largest hospital chain, treating approximately 2 million patients daily across its network of over 9000 beds.
• Dr. Pai, a globally recognized social entrepreneur, has positively impacted the educational landscape and created numerous employment opportunities.
• His journey is supported by his wife, Mrs. Shruti R. Pai, Creative Director of the Group, and their children, Sanya and Riya, exemplifying a family dedicated to social welfare and educational excellence.
