Zaved Akhtar Snapshot

​Zaved Akhtar is the CEO and Managing Director of Unilever Bangladesh. He was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors in August 2023. His career with Unilever spans over two decades, starting in 2000, during which he has held various roles in local, regional, and international capacitie.​

​Zaved emphasises purpose-driven leadership, focusing on sustainability, diversity, and inclusion. He has led initiatives like achieving a gender-balanced leadership team and promoting a plastic Waste-free Bangladesh. He is also known for adapting Unilever's strategies to changing economic conditions, such as shorter business planning cycles to address market volatility.​

• Strengthened Unilever’s market presence in Bangladesh, where it holds over 50% market share in the FMCG sector.
• Successfully introduced personal care products and hygiene awareness campaigns, significantly increasing product penetration across the country.

​Zaved Akhtar graduated from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. He has also undergone leadership training at IIM Ahmedabad and INSEAD Singapore.​
