  • Bikaji Foods rolls back product discounts, confident about raising prices if needed

    11 July 2024

Bikaji Foods has rolled back certain product discounts and offers in the April-June 2024, as input costs have started to climb, said the company's COO Manoj Verma.

After significant relief in input prices last year, following six consecutive quarters of increases, the company ran multiple product offers, resulting in volume growth that exceeded value growth for the first time in a long period.

Verma said they offered discounts of up to 10% on some products to pass on the benefit to consumers.

“However, this year, in quarter one, we have rolled back few of our consumer offers, which is a kind of a price increase as well. We are managing the pricing very well in terms of the way our purchase teams have done their job," Verma said.

Although price increases aren't currently necessary, it won't be challenging to implement them if cost pressures require passing on some of the increase to consumers, he added.

The Bikaner-based savoury snack maker is also setting its sights on growth in the global market.
