Flipkart to create over 1 lakh jobs, opens 11 fulfilment centres ahead of festive season

E-commerce major Flipkart said it will create over 100,000 new jobs and open 11 new fulfillment centers across India, ahead of the festive season and the company's annual Big Billion Days sale.

As per a media release, the new fulfillment centers will be located in nine cities. They will add 1.3 million square feet to Flipkart's supply chain infrastructure, bringing the total number of such facilities to 83. According to the company, this expansion aims to meet the anticipated surge in demand during the festive period.

Flipkart plans to conduct training programs for the new hires to prepare them for the expected increase in orders. Flipkart also shared that it has made investments in technology to optimize supply chain operations.
