SoftBank-backed ed-tech startup Unacademy recently dismissed 250 employees in fresh layoffs across the company. The ed-tech unicorn is also desperately searching for a strategic partner. Most of the companies Unacademy is said to have approached are brick-and-mortar education companies. During the pandemic, Unacademy rode the twin wave of venture capital free flow and a lockdown-induced shift to online education. But things seem to have changed now.
