Taj Cochin International Airport Hotel Opens

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of its newest property, Taj Cochin International Airport, on December 28, 2024. The inauguration ceremony was led by Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala.

As Puneet Chhatwal, IHCL's CEO and Managing Director, stated, the company has a long-standing history of contributing to the tourism sector in Kerala. The launch of the Taj Cochin International Airport hotel is a significant move to solidify IHCL's presence in the state further. The hotel, developed in collaboration with Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL), brings IHCL's total number of properties in Kerala to 19, with an additional three in the planning stages.

Cochin is recognized as a key city in Southern India due to its growing economic importance. The new hotel will increase IHCL's footprint in the city and provide guests with convenient access to the region's popular tourist spots.

The Taj Cochin International Airport hotel, with its 111 rooms, combines modern design with Kerala's rich artistic heritage. The hotel's dining options include the all-day diner Vista and Nonya, which serves Pan-Asian cuisine. Its amenities include a wellness center under IHCL's J Wellness Circle brand, a fitness center, and a swimming pool. The hotel also boasts a banquet space of over 5,000 square feet, making it an ideal venue for social and corporate events.

Suresh Khanna, the General Manager of Taj Cochin International Airport, highlighted that the hotel aims to celebrate Kerala's culture and hospitality. The team is looking forward to welcoming guests to the luxurious property.

Cochin, located on the Malabar coast, is considered Kerala's commercial and industrial capital. Its backwaters, spice markets, and architectural wonders make it a popular travel destination in India.
