Of the face of an increase in Covid cases in Kerala, the Cochin International Airport Limited (Cial) has maintained its status as India's third busiest international airport in 2021. Cial was ranked third in foreign travel in December, according to the latest statistics issued by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), similar to other months in the year. Cial registered 3,01,338 international passengers in December 2021, according to the data. While Delhi airport remained at the top of the list with 8,42,582 passengers, Mumbai airport came in second with 4,51,212 passengers during the period. Following Cial, Chennai airport handled 2,46,387 international travelers.
