Gemini Edibles & Fats India to invest Rs 400 cr in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Gemini Edibles & Fats India Ltd, a joint venture of Golden Agri International (GAR) Singapore and maker of edible oils under Freedom Healthy Oil, will be investing Rs 400 crores to set up a refinery in Telangana. Telangana IT and Industries Minister said that Telangana had already set in motion four revolutions under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao – 2nd Green Revolution, Blue Revolution, Pink Revolution and White Revolution. The state now set itself an ambitious goal of cultivating Oil Palm in 20 Lakh acres thereby embarking on a Yellow Revolution, he said.

KTR also said that the investment would increase oil production in Telangana and help local oilseed farmers. The unit would not only provide employment to more than 1,000 locals but would also support the many oilseed farmers in the State. Managing Director of Gemini Edibles Pradeep Chowdhry met KTR in Hyderabad on Wednesday and conveyed the investment decision. The Minister welcomed the decision of Gemini Edibles and said that the Telangana government would extend all possible cooperation to the organisation.
