- Elcid Investments Limited is a non-banking finance company registered with the Reserve Bank of India under the category of an investment company. The company primarily operates as an investment company and its business income is the income arriving out of investments held by the company.
- The majority of the company's activities revolve around investing in listed and unlisted stock shares, corporate debt instruments, and mutual funds. Certain investments in equity instruments and mutual funds may be acquired and sold to maintain appropriate liquidity
- There is no trading activity in the shares of the company due to the absence of the seller on the trading exchange and hence the share price of the company has stopped trading on the exchange
- The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. In 2013, the promoters offered to delist the company and buy back the minority's 20.0% stake for Rs. 11,455 per share. The delisting failed as only 16,500 shares out of 40,750 shares were offered by the minority to promoters at this price. On 28th March 2022, the promoters tried delisting again at Rs. 1,61,023 but yet again failed.
- On May 9, 2022, despite spirited resistance from minority shareholders, the proposal for voluntary delisting of Elcid Investments went through at Rs. 1,62,000 per share.
- Elcid Investments Limited was incorporated in December 1981 under the provisions of the Companies Act 1956 in Mumbai.

Reduction of lock-in is seen as big step and after that many PMS funds are advising their clients to invest in Pre-IPO shares to get the benefit of early stage investment.
